Leatha Jeffries was affectionately known to family as :Doll". She was the third of five children to the late Douglas and Patti Davis. She was born April 5, 1923 in Ridgeway, North Carolina and departed this life on Sunday, May 20, 20l8 in Monroe, North Carolina. She attended the public schools in Warren County, North Carolina then the family moved to Asbury Park, New Jersey where she continued her education. On December 31, 1946 Leatha was joined in Holy Matrimony to Thomas Albert Jeffries. This union was blessed with two children, Thomas Albert Jr. and Rosslyn Marie. Leatha united with the Glendale Baptist Church in 1996. She was a faithful member of the Flower Club and the Golden Agers Ministry. Leatha regularly attended services until her health declined. Leatha enjoyed tending to her many house plants, cooking and baking. She also enjoyed working in her vegetable garden and taking great care of her rose and azalea bushes. Leatha was prededed in death by her husband Thomas Albert Sr. She leaves to cherish her memory two children, Thomas Albert Jr. (Evelyn) and Rosslyn Marie Wardick (Raymond); Jason Jeffries (Cynthia), Erick Jeffries (Sarina), Renee Foster (Darren), Rayna Coley (Carlos), seven great-grandchildren: Jaylen, Jayla, Jayden, Dakota, Dylan, Danielle and Chase. As well as a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends that loved her dearly. On Sunday May 20. 2018 Leatha Jeffries of Glenarden Maryland entered into eternal rest. Family will receive friends on Wednesday May 30 from 10 am until the time of funeral service at 11:00 am at The Sanctuary at Kingdom Square 9033 Central Avenue Capital Heights, MD 20743. Interment Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery in Lignum, Virginia on May 31.
