On Thursday April 28, 2022 Kandyce Reneye Jackson of Temple Hills, Maryland entered into eternal life. Family will receive friends on Thursday, May 12 from 10 am until the time of funeral service at 11 am at Ebenezer AME Church, 7707 Allentown Road, Fort Washington, MD 20744. Interment Harmony Memorial Park.


Kandyce Jackson was born in Washington, D.C. on July 24, 1990 to Eugenia and Willie Jackson, Sr. She was baptized and became a member of Ebenezer A.M.E Church in Fort Washington, Maryland on May 19, 1996. She sang in the Children’s Choir and on May 1, 2004, she crossed over in Womanhood Rites of Passage. She was preceded in death by her grandmother Willie Dean Jackson and grandfathers Eugene Jefferson and Eddie Jackson.
She graduated from Oxon Hill High School in 2008 where she was in the Science and Technology Engineering Program. She was Captain of the Varsity Soccer Team and Vice President of the Poetry Club.
Upon graduation Kandyce attended the University of Maryland, College Park and in 2012 received a B.A. degree in Journalism with a concentration in Criminology and Criminal Justice. She was Editor of the Black Explosion Newspaper and Vice President of Administrative Affairs for the Black Student Union. She was also Supervisor for the Resident Life Information Technology.
In 2017, Kandyce received her law degree, graduating Cum Laude and ranked number 9 out of 108 graduates. She was an OUTLaw-1L representative, a member of the Class of 2017 Finance Committee and a member of the Epsilon Sigma Iota Sorority. Additionally, she was Senior Notes and Comments Editor as well as a Contracts Teaching Assistant and Staff Editor for the Howard Law Journal.
Kandyce started her professional career as an Associate at Latham & Watkins where she provided analysis of privacy, security and consumer protection implications of products, services, features and controls. After two years she became an associate at Davis Wright Tremaine LLP and later became a Public Policy Manager, Reality Labs at Facebook.
Kandyce was an activist and fiercely fought for causes that supported the civil liberties of the communities that she loved. She loved to read. She loved her family and friends. She especially loved her role as Auntie Kay Kay and found so much joy when her nephew Jeremiah would burst into her room to greet her with a huge hug. She had a big laugh and beautiful smile. She enjoyed challenging people with different points of view. In her academic pursuits she was motivated to be the best that she could be. She was a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. and proudly wore her blue and white.
Kandyce leaves to cherish her memories her parents, Willie and Eugenia Jackson, two brothers: Robert Jackson (Alice), Willie Jackson Jr, grandmother: Blanche Jefferson, aunts: Maxine Jefferson-Brown (Ralph), Sandra Robin, Joan Thompson, uncles: Maurice Jefferson (Petra), Keith Jefferson, nephew: Jeremiah Copeland, great aunts: Joan Brown (Thomas), Janice Mincey (Charles), great uncle: Eddie Randolph, Godmother: Felicia Wyatt-Jones, special confidante-friend-cousin: Deshon Brown, dog: Graham, along with a host of family and friends.
